Two cases of reconstruction of the breast after mastectomy with the contralateral De La Plaza abdominal-mammary flap are described. Results were satisfactory in the first patient. In the second patient massive necrosis of the flap required a second operation. The advantages and limits of this technique are discussed. In conclusion it is valid and interesting but not without risk.
