Abstract

In these words of Carlo Aymonino, I believe, lies the entire sense of the incipit of form, that is, that vague perception that hovers in the mind and becomes tangible through a process of genesis driven by error and its correction2. In this way, form can be sought (or found) through a morphological sensitivity that progressively adjusts the trajectory to follow. After all, if the architect’s work is focused on externalizing the shape of objects – whether as they are in reality or filtered through something that intervenes between them and the viewer – then the vivid sense of satisfaction that results is a sufficient justification for the architectural act. There is no sin or shame; the image defies gravity and, with lightness, overcomes the remorse of formalism.
