This study explores the use of bistable shape memory alloy (SMA) actuators in active grille shutters (AGS) to improve vehicle aerodynamics. The actuator, designed for adaptive movement, was tested and refined to achieve a reliable 90° rotation. AGS components were produced using FDM additive manufacturing and successfully integrated into a vehicle's front bumper. The research highlights the potential of SMA technology for energy-efficient adaptive aerodynamic systems.

Abstract
This study explores the use of bistable shape memory alloy (SMA) actuators in active grille shutters (AGS) to improve vehicle aerodynamics. The actuator, designed for adaptive movement, was tested and refined to achieve a reliable 90° rotation. AGS components were produced using FDM additive manufacturing and successfully integrated into a vehicle's front bumper. The research highlights the potential of SMA technology for energy-efficient adaptive aerodynamic systems.File in questo prodotto:
