Abstract

This paper deals with two loci from Lib. or. 17,7 Foerster (Monody on Julian). First, it proposes the expunction of λογισμός, putting forward the hypothesis that it originally was a marginal comment that has later entered into the text. Second, it discusses the exegesis of θήκην (A ex corr. Reiske edd.), proposes interpretations of the segment νεκροῦ τινος θήκην that differ from those put forward by scholars so far, and finally invites to reconsider the manuscript reading φήμην as a meaningful alternative
