Normativa sulla promozione dell'economia circolare per ridurre i rifiuti di plastica in Vietnam ed esperienze internazionali (Regulations on Promoting Circular Economy to Reduce Plastic Waste in Vietnam and International Experiences)

Plastic waste poses enormous environmental challenges to Vietnam and to the world. Plastic pollution results in serious consequences for the environment, health, and economic development. Therefore, the transition from the linear economy to a circular economy model has been gaining increasing attention worldwide, including in Vietnam. The Vietnamese environmental law system currently contains provisions promoting the circular economy; however, these provisions remain nascent and lack guiding principles. This study examines the legal framework for developing a circular economy in Vietnam, with a focus on the recycling and commercialization of plastic waste. On that basis, the authors analyze and evaluate the current status of plastic waste recycling and commercialization in Vietnam, and assess the advantages, limitations, and experiences of some models that promote the circular economy worldwide. Finally, the authors provide legal recommendations for building a circular economy, with emphasis on plastic waste recycling governance and commercialisation in Vietnam.
