The paper explores the role of design in the creation of tempo- rary events as a tool for urban regeneration and a catalyst for community engagement, with a particular focus on environ- mental and social sustainability. Through the analysis of three case studies – Pessoa Luna Park, Pomigliano Jazz Festival, and Villa Pennisi in Musica – it highlights how participatory and bottom-up approaches can transform marginal spaces into relational, cultural, and inclusive places. Design becomes a facilitator of change, generating new forms of belonging, eco- logical awareness, and social cohesion.
