Abstract
T he paper presents the results based on the study of aerial photographs of the territory west of Caudium. The research was conducted as part of an Archaeological Map of Caudina Valley. T he study was developed with traditional and innovative archaeological methods integrating GIS technologies, to manage in the project’s geoda tabase an informational level with the anomalies identified and mapped. T he 220 aerial and satellite images analyzed, dated from 1943 to 2024, made it possible to identify in this area the Appian way and numer ous marks attributable to the Roman agrarian division. For now, most of them are compatible with the system Caudium II, of 15 actus side, oriented 16°30’W. The via Appia, which here follows a slightly divergent path from S.S. 07, thus acts as an organizing axis for this agrarian divisionI documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
