Abstract

The paleographic analysis of some manuscripts, once traced by Hugo Buchthal and Angela Daneu Lattanzi to a production in Messina dating back to the last thirty years of the 12th century, together with other codices, certainly or very probably Sicilian, little known to art historians, because they were not or only slightly decorated, allows us to reconsider some aspects of the graphic culture in Sicily during the Norman age, in particular the problem relating to the places of production.
