In the Chinese system, family relationships are values that must be preserved and regulated, as they are the primary source of economic assistance. For this reason, although the divorce rate is more or less proportional to Western systems, marriage rates are higher due to a poorly developed welfare system. Therefore, assistance to children and the elderly who are no longer able to work is provided by the family. The family, therefore, appears to be the backbone of Chinese society, characterized by a strong cultural self-referentiality and an absolute preference for intra-ethnic ties, even in the context of international relations and dynamics.

Abstract
In the Chinese system, family relationships are values that must be preserved and regulated, as they are the primary source of economic assistance. For this reason, although the divorce rate is more or less proportional to Western systems, marriage rates are higher due to a poorly developed welfare system. Therefore, assistance to children and the elderly who are no longer able to work is provided by the family. The family, therefore, appears to be the backbone of Chinese society, characterized by a strong cultural self-referentiality and an absolute preference for intra-ethnic ties, even in the context of international relations and dynamics.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
