Percorsi della ricerca palingenetica

The last years have witnessed a renewed scientific interest on research dealing with the palingenesis of authoritative acts, legal sources and texts of the Roman jurisprudence The aim of this paper is to reconstruct the early and previous stages of this kind of research, with main reference to the key milestones in the Italian experience An Italian project of a palingenesis of imperial constitutions began in the first twenty years of the twentieth century but has remained incomplete As a spin-off of this project, Edoardo Volterra undertook until his death the edition of a collection of senatus consulta: this collection, although incomplete, became a point of reference for the next research.
