Maintaining a balance between healthy technology use and happy relationships can be challenging. (Dis)similarity between partners can facilitate or reduce the risk of problematic internet use. This study aims to examine the association between problematic internet use and the (dis)similarity in couples' relationship satisfaction. In a sample of 155 heterosexual couples, a Dyadic Response Surface Analysis was conducted to examine the impact of the (dis)similarity between partners on relationship satisfaction in the context of both partners' problematic internet use. Results showed that higher relationship dissatisfaction rather than (dis)similarity between partners was associated with higher problematic internet use: implications were discussed.

Abstract
Maintaining a balance between healthy technology use and happy relationships can be challenging. (Dis)similarity between partners can facilitate or reduce the risk of problematic internet use. This study aims to examine the association between problematic internet use and the (dis)similarity in couples' relationship satisfaction. In a sample of 155 heterosexual couples, a Dyadic Response Surface Analysis was conducted to examine the impact of the (dis)similarity between partners on relationship satisfaction in the context of both partners' problematic internet use. Results showed that higher relationship dissatisfaction rather than (dis)similarity between partners was associated with higher problematic internet use: implications were discussed.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
