Abstract
This issue of the Magazine is the report of the POTDESIGN project led by the Italian University of Design, aimed at directing secondary school students to university studies, through workshops for the recognition of skills and the development of vocations. The University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli” is the leader of the network formed by all Italian universities with active Courses of Study in Design, eleven Universities are present in the Partnership Agreement, other 3 are present in the joint scientific actions: University of Florence, Politecnico di Torino, University of Palermo, University of Camerino, University of Studies “G. d’Annunzio” Chieti-Pescara, University of Perugia, University of Rome La Sapienza, University of Genoa, Politecnico di Bari, Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bo- logna, University of Ferrara with the Politecnico of Milano and with the patronage of the CUID Italian University Conference of Design. Through the Orientation Plans and Tutoring (POT) 2017- 2018, MIUR Department for Higher Education and Research General Directorate for Programming, Coordination and Funding of Higher Education Institutions, asks Universities “the commitment to promote training activities aimed at orientation to university studies and mentoring for the successful completion of the Courses of Study. The reduction in the number of graduates and specifically graduates who finish upper secondary education and enroll in university, the high drop-out rate and the difficulty of successfully completing a course of universities to support young people and young graduates when choosing the path of university studies and in the first years of study”. (POT2017-2018 Guidelines, MIUR).The Orientation of the students of the schools to the conscious choice of the appropriate university path and the activities of Tutoring addressed to the university students to monitor and support the progress in the university path and the achievement of the degree in time programmed, are actions that require time, care, patience, humility, courage, respect and daily attention, every day of the year, every day of the calendar, without interruption, always. This Magazine on the cover features an iconic object, Timor, Enzo Mari’s perpetual calendar that translates the value of POTDesign into its material and immaterial dimension POTDESIGN involves a craftsmanship that proceeds with the creative work, meaning for creativity “use of elements that already exist in new combinations that are useful” (H.
