Abstract

The contribution of buildings to the total energy consumption and emission of greenhousegaseshasincreased.Thebuilding sector is responsible for 42% of the total energy consumption. Thus, different innovative construction materials have been introduced to improve buildings’ sustainability. The aim of this paper is to give an overview of the relationship between innovative construction materials and the integration of Building information modeling (BIM) in the sustainability process. Particular attention is paid to BIM technologies and certifications.
