Un museo si diffonde nel centro storico di una antica città italiana arricchendone il senso di mistero e rafforzandone il legame mnemonico col suo figlio più famoso e visionario. A Rimini il Museo Federico Fellini non sta in un edificio, ma si dispiega attraverso una serie di meraviglie connesse alla memoria del grande regista italiano e dei personaggi, dei tic, dei luoghi che riconducono al suo immaginario. Orazio Carpenzano, con il suo gruppo di progettisti, gli artisti di Studio Azzurro e una folta equipe di esperti, agiscono attraverso una operazione che più che narrativa sembra essere una macchina delle emozioni. Tutto appare come una sequenza di statue in bilico tra arte architettura e design. Il castello illuminato tra i vapori come la nave di Amarcord, la torre a sbalzo con l’altalena, la memoria circense, gli inabissamenti fangosi dei mezzi meccanici, il rinoceronte d’oro, si uniscono a un potentissimo ingresso per il cinema Fulgor, costruendo una popolazione di sculture urbane interpretate con naturalezza e audacia. Questi oggetti, all’interno, assumono una ricchezza cromatica dove ogni elemento sembra un set. Così, passeggiando in questi luoghi improvvisamente ci si ritrova in spazi da abitare o semplicemente da attraversare, inattese scenografie dove da visitatore si diventa, di colpo, attore protagonista e dove l’architettura costruisce meravigliosi congegni che trasformano la città in teatro, il teatro in museo, il museo in poesia.

In Rimini, the Federico Fellini Museum is not housed in a building, but unfolds through a series of wonders connected to the memory of the great Italian director and the characters, tics and places that recall his imagination. Orazio Carpenzano, with his group of designers, the artists of Studio Azzurro and a large team of experts, act through an operation that seems to be an emotional machine rather than a narrative one. Everything looks like a sequence of statues poised between art, architecture and design. The castle lit up in the vapours like the ship in Amarcord, the cantilevered tower with the swing, the circus memory, the muddy sinking of the mechanical vehicles, the golden rhinoceros, all join up with a powerful entrance to the Fulgor cinema, building a population of urban sculptures interpreted with naturalness and audacity. Inside, these objects take on a chromatic richness where each element seems like a set. So, walking through these places, one suddenly finds oneself in spaces to be lived in or simply walked through, unexpected stage sets where one suddenly becomes a protagonist and where architecture builds marvellous devices that transform the city into a theatre, the theatre into a museum, the museum into poetry.
