The resurrection of Cassandra and the poetry of the Anthropocene · The monologue Resurrexit Cassandra by Ruggero Cappuccio, staged in Italy under the direction of Jan Fabre (2020-2021), offers an example of the reworking of an ancient myth, the myth of Cassandra, and of its receptions elaborated especially in the German context (Friedrich Schiller, Christa Wolf), giving value to a very topical issue : the climate change. Therefore, Cappuccio’s play can be considered representative of the way in which ‘classic and ‘contemporary’ intertwine with each other.
