The new inscription discovered in Terracina mentioning the triumvir M. Aemilius Lepidus, to be possibly dated after his death, could help raise new questions about the political struggles within the Senate during the Tiberian period. This paper suggests M.’ Aemilius Lepidus as the commissioner of the inscription, in the framework of a propaganda contest against his powerful relative M. Aemilius Lepidus, according to Augustus capax imperii.

Abstract

The new inscription discovered in Terracina mentioning the triumvir M.
