This work is focused on the hill-forts of the Samnites in the Ager Telesinus, territory between the Campanian plain and the mountain chain of the Matese, along the valleys of the Volturno and Calore rivers, preferential routes from the coastal areas to inland. The aerial photography and LiDAR data were crucial for identification, land surveying and analysis of these hill-forts. The largest sites are fortified with polygonal walls, while the smallest ones are equipped with structures of different type. Moreover this report shows the new researches on the Monte Pugliano, the hill located in the eastern side of the Telesina plain, next to the roman town of Telesia and its necropoleis, dated between the second half of the fifth and the fourth century B.C. Nowadays the visibility on this hill is really better than in the past and this situation allowed to identify a fortification much complex and different from previous reconstructions.
