THE KANTIAN CONCEPT OF CULTURE. The essay proposes an investigation on Kant’s conception of of culture. It identifies the transcendental possibility of culture both in contingency and in the man’s ability to set purposes. The essay is divided into four parts. In the first one it reconstructs the sense of the “kopernikanische Tat”, reading it as the institution of a relationship between meaninglessness and meaning. The second part deepens the concepts of ideality and of judgment. The third part explains the cultural-anthropological aspects of the Kantian reason. In the fourth part the author explains Kant’s thought on the genesis of culture and on the relationship between culture and history.
