Abstract

The paper analyses a rare example of votive inscription bilingual (Greek and Latin) and metrical preserved in the Museo Provinciale Campano di Capua (CIL X 3812 = CLE 867). It is a dedication to Nemesis possibly made by a Greek native speaker with a firm mastery of Latin language. Together with its relevance on the linguistic side, this document also offers an interesting evidence of the cults and religious life in Capua during the Imperial age.
