The contribution addresses the issue of the direct application of constitutional principles to the subjects of civil law, through a reconstruction of the different approaches of doctrine and jurisprudence in Italy since the 1970s. In particular, attention is paid to the principle of solidarity and its declensions within the negotiation relations between private parties.
