Abstract Le piattaforme blockchain e gli smart contracts rappresentano una importante novità nel quadro delle contrattazioni informatiche e telematiche. Di recente, anche il legislatore italiano se ne è occupato dettando alcune scarne regole, contenute nell'art. 18 ter della l. n. 12/2019 (cd. decreto semplificazioni). Data la novità del fenomeno, occorre verificare se, ed in che misura, le norme previgenti su dichiarazione elettronica e documento informatico sono in grado di regolarlo e dirimere le questioni che suscita. Lo scritto è dedicato a tale verifica. The blockchain platforms and smart contracts represent an important novelty in the context of IT and telematic negotiations. Recently, even the Italian legislator has dictated some rules on it (art. 18 ter, l. n. 12/2019). The novelty of the phenomenon makes it necessary to verify whether, and to what extent, the regulations previously in force on electronic declarations and documents are able to regulate it and settle the questions that it arises. The essay is dedicated to carrying out this verification.
