Hotels architecture began to be recently at the center of historians’ interest. In this area, the Spanish Paradores network presents an innovative and forefather peculiarity in regards to other European hotels of the 1900s, or even in regards to the current era, which is the reuse of the preexistent monumental architecture. This encourages to reflect, on the one hand, on some historical cases of reuse, and on the other, on the greater predisposition, especially in Switzerland but also in Italy, to create new buildings with their own style or the expansion of small hotels to convert them into Grand Hotels. From this point of view, the CIGA (Italian Company of Grand Hotels) founded in 1906 in Venice, plays a leading role, in renown cities, among them, in Naples. Here, in Via Partenope, already at the end of the 19th Century, were built some significant hotels, which despite its reconstructions, have retained the specific hotel function for which they were built.
