The recently published 8th version [1] of the AJCC melanoma classification introduces substantial changes in the melanoma prognostic categorization. Some of these variations have been criticized by a group of experts especially for the implications regarding the adjuvant treatments that became recently available [2]. One of the most relevant issues regards stage III as the new classification may impair the comparability of present and future adjuvant trials.
