The recently published 8th version [1] of the AJCC melanoma classification introduces substantial changes in the melanoma prognostic categorization. Some of these variations have been criticized by a group of experts especially for the implications regarding the adjuvant treatments that became recently available [2]. One of the most relevant issues regards stage III as the new classification may impair the comparability of present and future adjuvant trials. Nevertheless, focusing on prognostic curves, even stage IIC is worth of attention. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved.

Abstract
The recently published 8th version [1] of the AJCC melanoma classification introduces substantial changes in the melanoma prognostic categorization. Some of these variations have been criticized by a group of experts especially for the implications regarding the adjuvant treatments that became recently available [2]. One of the most relevant issues regards stage III as the new classification may impair the comparability of present and future adjuvant trials. Nevertheless, focusing on prognostic curves, even stage IIC is worth of attention. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved.File in questo prodotto:
