Abstract

In this work the ability of modified and unmodified montmorillonite to adsorb simazine and boscalid was evaluated. It was found that the adsorption behavior of the two compounds was greatly influenced by their different physicochemical properties. Acid-activated montmorillonite exhibited excellent adsorption capacity for simazine whereas montmorillonite treated with benzyltriethylammonium was suitable for removal of boscalid.
