Microinfusore in adolescenti: "Cool" o "Trash"?

The so-called "Italian approach" to prescribing an insulin pump, according to the recommendations of the Italian Society of Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetology (ISPED), stresses the importance of correctly selecting patients so as to avoid dropouts from therapy. We employed the double-interview technique, often used in television shows, asking two adolescents with different opinions on the pump the same questions so we could compare their replies. We hoped this would help understanding the advantages and disadvantages better, but also the prejudices and beliefs about this therapy. Young people are used to defining the appeal of an event as either "cool" or "trash" so we called the girl who is satisfied with the pump "cool" and the one who isn't "trash".
