The ancient settlement of Caudium is unanimously located in the Caudina Valley, under the Taburno massif, in the flat area under the Montesarchio’s hill (BN). Compared to the funerary documentation, the archaeological data relating to the ancient city are few and fragmentary. In this context it seemed useful to set up an aerial photographic analysis conducted through the multitemporal and multiscale comparison of historical aerial imagery and satellite data sets. This paper reports some aero topographic acquisitions as crop marks of fortification, monumental building, roads and marks of illegal excavated tombs.

Abstract
The ancient settlement of Caudium is unanimously located in the Caudina Valley, under the Taburno massif, in the flat area under the Montesarchio’s hill (BN). Compared to the funerary documentation, the archaeological data relating to the ancient city are few and fragmentary. In this context it seemed useful to set up an aerial photographic analysis conducted through the multitemporal and multiscale comparison of historical aerial imagery and satellite data sets. This paper reports some aero topographic acquisitions as crop marks of fortification, monumental building, roads and marks of illegal excavated tombs.File in questo prodotto:
