This paper aims to review the literature about the process of social, political, technological and economic interdependence, instigated by scientific progress and the internationalization of trade, production and business in the world. This process has gradually involved the legal systems of individual countries. As a consequence, the need for a new legal model of social and economic regulation has arisen to minimize the normative and conceptual discrepancies between different legal systems. The development of the European Union itself was accompanied by a long process of normative harmonisation that resulted in a set of European private law rules with effect in all Member States, reflecting a broader plan for juridical unification. We eventually argue that this process, however, could lead to the loss of manufacturing excellence.

Abstract
This paper aims to review the literature about the process of social, political, technological and economic interdependence, instigated by scientific progress and the internationalization of trade, production and business in the world. This process has gradually involved the legal systems of individual countries. As a consequence, the need for a new legal model of social and economic regulation has arisen to minimize the normative and conceptual discrepancies between different legal systems. The development of the European Union itself was accompanied by a long process of normative harmonisation that resulted in a set of European private law rules with effect in all Member States, reflecting a broader plan for juridical unification. We eventually argue that this process, however, could lead to the loss of manufacturing excellence.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
