Atmospheric levels of formaldehyde were measured on workdays in a semi-rural area of the suburb of Caserta (Italy), 41° 04' N, from February to November 2004. A marked diurnal fluctuation was observed, with higher values at noon and no correlation with the meteorological conditions. Superimposed to this fluctuation, we also observed a monthly dependence: lower relative values in July and August, the months with very low vehicular traffic, and higher in the others. The concentration - local time data are described by two asymmetric Gaussian functions, by which, when knowing month and local time, the formaldehyde level can be calculated. © by PSP Volume 14 - No 12a. 2005.

Abstract
2005.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
