The study of psychiatric disorders has always considered different modalities of interpretation, in close relationship to the various factors which contribute to their development. Therefore, several models of study have been configurated which with their explanatory relativism, have never been able to hit the complexity of the evolution of a psychopathological event as a whole. Cognitive models refer to a theoretical structure which does not neglect the importance of the other components of the psychic structure, from the affective and relational, to the biological one. Moreover, they utilise a methodology of investigation sufficiently adequate to a scientific procedure. But it is the same concept of model, inspired to an explanatory reductionism, which is not able to express that dimension of globality and, over all, of integration which different authors propose, instead, through the description of an "Integrated Perspective Study of the psychiatric disorders".
