Through unpublished documents conserved in Italian and Spanish archives, the paper reconstructs the campaign to strip off and save about 345 square metres of mural paintings, from the Catalan hinterland, and subsequently transfer them to the Museu d'Art i Arquelogia, and then to MNAC, where they now are.
