Hereditary benign intraepithelial dyskeratosis, a very rare disease affecting oral and conjunctival mucosae, is often familial and is determined by an autosomal dominant gene. Seven subjects belonging to three generations of a Neapolitan family presented the disease with a different expressivity. Cytohistological aspects and differential diagnosis are pointed out.
