In a chemical investigation of the aquatic plant Myriophyllum verticillatum three polyprenols and two monohydroxy lycopersenes have been isolated and characterized on the basis of their chemical and physical features. The novel compounds hydroxy lycopersene and iso-hydroxy lycopersene may be easily included in the carotenoid biosynthetic pathway. © 1988.
