The devitrification behavior of Na2O·Al2O3·2GeO2 glass was analyzed. The glass was further examined by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) absorption spectroscopy and x-ray diffraction analysis. The analysis showed that the substitution of GeO2 by Al2O3 strongly increases the glass stability and devitrification mechanism changes from internal to surface crystallization.
