Introduction: Skin aging is determined by genetic, psychological and physical factors and it is defined in qualitative way by the clinical signs and in quantitative way by the echography. Purpose: The damages produced on the skin by the psychological and physical stress were measured and compared in subjects with different ages. Then, the methods were correlated and some ends standard points were proposed to define the skin aging. Materials and methods: 180 men and 180 women were enrolled in this study. They were divided into 12 groups by the presence/absence of the psychological stress and/or the habit to smoke and/or the exposure to the sun, and into 36 subgroups (5 men, 5 women) by 3 bands of age(Á 18-30, B 40-55 and C 65-80 years old). The 180 subjects with psychological stress were selected by the Schedule of Recent Experiences (SRE) and the Questionnaire of the Events of the Life(QAV). The aging of the skin was appraises by the Glogau’s signs and the echography. Results: The inportance of the psychological stress showed to the SRE a weight: tall, middle and low in 32%, 35% and 33% of the cases respectively and to the QAV as extreme, moderate and light in 57, 64 and 59 subjects respectively. The clinical signs of the aging were absent in the groups I-II-III-IVA and IB, precocious in the groups V-VI-VII-VIIIA and II-III-IVVB, moderate in the groups VI-VII-VIIIB and I-II-III-IVC, advanced in the groups IX-X-XI-XIIA and VC, serious in the groups VI-VII-VIIIC and IX-X-XI-XII B C. Discussion: SRE and QAV show progressive reduction in importance of the uneasiness in the groups B, Á. and C. The subjects with perceived stress show more clinical and US signs of aging than ones without perceived stress and they also present mark like the smokers. The photoaging damage shows more signs of aging than ones by perceived stress or habit to the smoke or both. Conclusions: The clinical signs (Glogau), the psychological tests and the US findings allow us to distinguish in 5 level the aging of the skin and to appraise the skin damage and the effectiveness ofthe psychotherapy and/or of the protective means or the treatments.
