EnglishWe investigated the activated partial thromboplastin time prolongation after addition to citrated plasma of a heparin-antithrombin mixture, expressed as the ratio of the APTT carried out in the presence of the heparin mixture divided by the baseline APTT of the same plasma mixture. Thrombophilia defects are recognized in about one third of the patients presenting with a venous thromboembolic event.
