This contribution aims to provide a reflection on the challenges presented by the ongoing process of urban transformation in the city of Tirana. In particular, the implementation of large-scale architectural projects, while contributing to the development of urban rent and generating socio-economic inequalities, is irreversibly compromising the very identity of the city.
