The discourse surrounding public space regeneration is evolving at an accelerated pace. However, the treatment of such spaces can vary significantly from one city to another, depending on differing conditions as cities grow and population density increases, climate change, and policy and governance changes without neglecting changes in societal values and cultural practices. The paper presents a comparative case study that aims to examine the process of urban regeneration within two public spaces with historical and agricultural value in different urban environments. The study used a qualitative approach and proposed cartographic techniques using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to map the context of each public space with common significance. The maps serve not only as visual aids but also as analytical frameworks that facilitate the comprehension and communication of intricate spatial phenomena and their interconnections. The findings show that while both spaces have shared values, their different environmental contexts necessitate unique redevelopment approaches. Understanding these spatial dynamics through mapping allows for more informed and context-specific urban regeneration strategies.

Abstract
Understanding these spatial dynamics through mapping allows for more informed and context-specific urban regeneration strategies.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
