The analysis of mortality is a crucial field for understanding the effects of environ mental pollution on public health. In an effort to find new and more accurate indicators for daily and instantaneous mortality, using the Gompertz and Cox models, this study utilizes daily mortality data provided by ISTAT for all Italian municipalities from Jan uary 1, 2011, to November 30, 2024. The analysis integrates air quality levels, examined using pollutant data collected by ARPA Puglia on a daily basis for all municipalities in the Apulia region. A specific focus is placed on the city of Taranto, which has a more complex and integrated air quality monitoring system compared to other municipalities (the DOAS-LIDAR network1), to assess the influence of atmospheric pollution on mor tality from industrial factors.
