Abstract

The contribution aims to reconstruct the genesis of the concept of reason within the framework of the early philosophical program of Wilhelm Windelband, the founder of the Baden School of Neo-Kantianism. To this end, two of Windelband's works are analyzed in terms of their systematic and historical-problematic assumptions: Immanuel Kant (1881) and Über Sokrates (1880). The purpose is to elucidate Windelband's interpretation of Greek philosophy and the origins of criticism, as well as to highlight an original kulturphilosophisch orientation in his thought.
