Abstract

The design for working-class neighbourhoods was characterised not only by the provision of open spaces, but also by the Social Centres: specialised and inclusive public places, expressly designed to offer support, including psychological support, to the inhabitants. The narration of a few episodes focuses on these topical issues. In Naples, the Social Centre at Bagnoli and Secondigliano are designed by Carlo Cocchia while those at Agnano, Canzanella and Capodichino by Stefania Filo Speziale.
