The research of the Textile Design laboratory, TexLab, of the Department of Architecture and Industrial Design (Unicampania) is aimed at the integration of local production chains for the valorisation of vegetable biomass for the development of innovative bio-based yarns. The project From Farm to Clothes aims to focus attention on new forms of production and consumption by interpreting the recommendations of the United Nations SDG’s goal number 12 “Responsible consumption and Production”. The project, therefore, defines a proposal for the development of bio-based textiles from agricultural and forest biomass, by creating a territorial network based on the building capacity of innovative processes and projects for local development. The TexLAB is part of the Textile & Clothing Business Labs (TCBL) community, a partner of the European project Herewear within the Work package 7 (Stakeholder community building & servicing); it interacts with the dissemination of results and exchange of models among which, the Lifecycle map for bio-based materials developed by UAL’s Centre for Circular Design, fits the project From Farm to Clothes.
