Abstract

As part of the asylum structures, the Case della Divina Provvidenza, “other cities” built by Don Pasquale Uva, following the example of Cottolengo, have not suffered abandonment or change of destination use. In addition to the attention paid to the sociality of the individual, they are distinguished by the gradual adaptation, in the expansion phase starting from the second postwar period, towards hospital-type structures, also tracing the transition from the pavilion to the monobloc model, thanks to quality interventions by engineers and architects.
