CULTURA E POTERE: MARIA CAROLINA E L’ISTITUZIONE DEL “MUSEO NEL PALAZZO DEI VECCHI STUDI

The essay, the result of research still in its auroral state and conducted exclusively through the main bibliographical sources on the subject, suggests some possible research paths on the role that Maria Carolina could have in the process of formation of what is now the National Archeological Museum of Naples. With respect to the need to shed light on the " gears of the monarchy", on the integration existing between male and female roles in the management of the state and on the Europea system of the courts, emphasize the possible link between the Queen of Naples and the museum - link never evaluated so far- can provide new points of view and new avenues of investigation not only on the origins of the most important museum institutions in the South but also on the set of political motivations, cultural stimuli and international influences that characterized her actions which is, perhaps, the most controversial sovereign in Naples

Con il presente contributo, esito di una ricerca ancora allo stato aurorale e condotta esclusivamente attraverso le principali fonti bibliografiche sull’argomento, si suggeriscono alcuni possibili percorsi di ricerca sul ruolo che Maria Carolina poté avere nel processo di formazione di quello che oggi è il Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Napoli. Rispetto all’esigenza di far luce sugli “ingranaggi della monarchia”, sull’integrazione esistente tra i ruoli maschili e femminili nella gestione dello Stato e sul “sistema europeo delle corti” porre l’accento sul possibile legame tra la Regina di Napoli e il museo – legame mai valutato finora- può fornire nuovi punti di vista e nuove strade d’indagine non solo sulle origini del più importante istituto museale del Mezzogiorno ma anche sull’insieme di motivazioni politiche, stimoli culturali e influenze internazionali che caratterizzarono le azioni di colei che è, forse, la più discussa e controversa sovrana di Napoli
