This study seeks to examine the linguistic and discursive features of medicine and health academic research blog posts as sites of text and genre, where bloggers position themselves through interaction and construct and disseminate knowledge. More specifically, the study is guided by two complementary research questions: RQ1: How do academic research bloggers from the chosen disciplines establish interactional social meanings in their postings through patterns of language and rhetorical choices? RQ2: How do these bloggers and their concrete use of language contribute to a new form of publicly available scientific knowledge in the discourse of their discipline?

Abstract

More specifically, the study is guided by two complementary research questions: RQ1: How do academic research bloggers from the chosen disciplines establish interactional social meanings in their postings through patterns of language and rhetorical choices? RQ2: How do these bloggers and their concrete use of language contribute to a new form of publicly available scientific knowledge in the discourse of their discipline?
