The present paper, though synthetically, aims at analyzing the innovative characters of Pietro Chiesa’s works, tracing an ideal itinerary of his career, from the beginnings in the artistic craft studio to the management ‒ with Gio Ponti ‒ of FontanaArte, leader company in the lighting industry. The technical competence and the singular interpretative attitude of “magister vitrearius”, driven by the many roles for the production of stained glass windows, let the artist get in touch with the industrial sector. Pietro Chiesa ushered in a new creative season, in perfect balance between art and technique, bringing forward the original Italian style that ‒ in the post-war period ‒ will lead to the affirmation of the high-quality product and of the new “Bel Design”
