The social-religious history has developed a new attention to the devotional “religious past” in the age of Counter-Reformation, with particular reference to the analysis of the private spaces. The success of these studies in the foreign research centers have determined in Italy the rebirth of the interest to the daily life devotions, the cult for the images, as well as the use of the spaces in the religious routine. Currently in the research tracks we can find among the keywords the so-called “Domestic Religion”, a kind of category not far from those of “Civic Religion” and “Territoriality” of devotion to the saints, elaborated in the last decades in order to understand the religious past in theSpanish and the Midday area. Therefore it is necessary a consideration about methodological questions and the use of interpretative categories, as well as the past generation work, avoiding the risk of a dichotomic interpretative proposal among public space and private space, among personal devotion and collective devotion.
