La tettonica come paradigma nell’architettura nordica di Sverre Fehn. Il disegno del Museo dei Ghiacciai a Fjaerland

Through the study of some works by Sverre Fehn and the representation of the Glacier Museum in Fjaerland, these notes underline the timeless value of the Drawing as a medium for the critical interpretation not only of the architectural space and its three-dimensional configuration, but of the underlying ideational process to his generation. The drawing of the Glacier Museum, one of the most recent works by the Norwegian architect, has allowed us to unveil the 'poetic' of Fehn, to describe his unique approach to architecture, to analyse the characters that recur in all his architectures, built or even designed. The architectural characters described through the drawings of the Museum of Fjaerland can be summarized in a particular adaptation to the site in terms not of 'mimicry' but of 'comparison', in the partial or integral modular repetition of the architectural system and in the use of the building as primary tool of expression. The constancy with which he developed his unique approach to design and the unconditional perseverance with which he adheres to the 'poetic thought' underlying all his architectures, have determined - almost a decade after his death - the late recognition of Sverre Fehn.

Attraverso lo studio di alcune opere di Sverre Fehn e la rappresentazione grafica del Museo dei ghiacciai a Fjaerland, le presenti note sottolineano la valenza sempre attuale del Disegno come medium di interpretazione critica non solo dello spazio architettonico e della sua organizzazione tridimensionale, ma del processo ideativo che lo ha generato. L'esercizio del disegno del Museo dei ghiacciai, una delle opere più recenti dell'architetto norvegese, ha permesso di svelare la 'poetica' di Fehn, di descrivere il suo singolare approccio all'architettura, di analizzare i caratteri che ricorrono in tutte le sue opere, realizzate o anche solo progettate. I caratteri architettonici descritti attraverso i disegni del Museo di Fjaerland possono essere sintetizzati in un particolare adattamento al sito in termini non di 'mimetismo' ma di 'confronto', nella ripetizione modulare parziale o integrale dell'impianto architettonico e nell'uso della costruzione come strumento primario di espressione. È proprio alla costanza con la quale ha sviluppato il suo singolare approccio alla progettazione ed alla incondizionata perseveranza con la quale si attiene al 'pensiero poetico' che sottende tutte le sue architetture, che si deve - a quasi un decennio dalla sua morte - il tardivo riconoscimento di Sverre Fehn.
