Recently, an algebraic procedure was developed for constructing confidence ellipses, given a level of significance, for points in a low-dimensional plot obtained from performing classical correspondence analysis. This paper reviews the construction of such ellipses for classical correspondence analysis and extends this feature to multiple correspondence analysis. This development allows the verification of the statistical significance of a category to the association among multiple categorical variables.

Abstract
