During the century 18TH Paris was configured as a generator centre of the currents in vogue in issues of appearance between the European Courts. Thus treaties and notebooks of drawings of French jewellery travelled around Europe, establishing as authentic model-catalogues for the Spanish silversmiths of gold. It is the case of Jean-Henri-Prosper Pougetw who published in Paris in 1762 the "Traité des pierres Précieuses" et of the manière of les employer in parure, establishing its designs as the reference of the prevailing taste. Our objective is to make a general approximation to the work of Pouget in order demonstrate his influence in the Spanish production. For this we will proceed to the comparative analysis of this Treaty with other documents of the time. We refer, among others, to designs of jewels preserved in the Archive of the Royal Palace of Madrid, as well as so many other drawings and portraits nationally produced
