La lingua francese fra storia e istituzioni politiche

Nei Dipartimenti di Scienze politiche al docente linguista spetta il compito delicato di far sentire allo studente, e forse anche ai colleghi, l’indissolubile nesso intercorrente fra lingua e cultura e fra modelli culturali e modelli istituzionali. Lo studente di Scienze politiche è nelle migliori condizioni per sviluppare alcune competenze specifiche nello studio delle Istituzioni culturali e politiche delle lingue e dei Paesi di riferimento. Per quanto concerne la lingua e la cultura francesi, potrebbero indicarsi, fra i tanti possibili, quattro filoni di approfondimento: l’investigazione della storia della lingua come istituzione, in stretta connessione con la storia politica; la ricerca sui vari generi retorici e sui vari registri stilistici della lingua e della cultura francesi; una specifica pratica giurilinguistica, da esercitare nel contesto dell’ordinamento europeo e di quello internazionale; una competenza rigorosa nell’universo della Francofonia, oggi fenomeno in crescente espansione. Tutto ciò può essere puntualmente studiato, individuando livelli e segmenti specifici. ABSTRACT: In Political Science Departments the linguist has the delicate task of underlining, in the eyes of the students – and perhaps also in those of her/his colleagues – the link between language and culture on one side, and between cultural and institutional models on the other. The Political Science student, in turn, is situated in the best position to develop a specific expertise around the cultural and political Institutions and the countries she/he studies. As concerns French language and culture, among many different areas of study that are particularly relevant in this sense, the most interesting ones may be considered to be: the investigation into the history of the French language as institution, in close connection to political history; the history of the different rhetorical genres and stylistic registers of French language and culture; a specific jurilinguistic practice, to be exercised in the context of the European and international systems; rigorous competence within the expanding Francophone universe. All of the above areas of expertise can be investigated in order to develop specific levels of competence and expertise.
